Alxarq Percussió, founded in 2013, is an ensemble committed to the music of its time and the creators of its generation. Throughout its career, this group has specialized both in the performance of key works from the percussion music repertoire of the 20th and 21st centuries and in the exploration of new aesthetics in collaboration with the avant-garde of contemporary composers.
They have performed at numerous festivals, including Le Corps a corps (Perpignan), Festival Experimentam-tam, VIPA-Valencia Internacional Performance Academy, XXXV Semana de la Música de Montserrat , Fira de Juliol de Valencia, Rafel Festival, Festival Ensems, Monoton-Cuartel de Artillería, Cicle de Cambra del Palau de la Música, Festival Serenates, Mostra Sonora de Sueca i International Percussion Ensemble Week (Croatia).
They have commissioned and premiered pieces by composers such as Bernat Cucarella, Joan Gómez Alemany, Carles Salvador, Mar Caballer, Pablo Andrés, Ángela Gómez, and David Moliner.
This ensemble has been awarded several prizes, including First Prize at the I International Chamber Music Competition for Percussion Percute in the 2013 and 2019 editions, as well as First Prize at the II National Chamber Music Competition of Montserrat in 2014.
Among their latest creations are Phases, Persephassa & Idmen B by Iannis Xenakis, Postludes, Drumming by Steve Reich, Kōbō Lab and the family-friendly show La volta al so en 80 mons.
In 2024, they release their first album Miratge under the Liquen Records label and with the support of the Institut Valencià de Cultura featuring the first recordings of works by young composers of their generation.
